On November 11th, 2008 Covert Township Approved and Passed New Ordinances that effect Covert Township Lake Michigan Property Owners. I have all of the Documents passed if anyone would like a copy. The main issues changed are as follows.
1. The 200 foot Covert Township Enforced Setback, that was in addition to the DEQ setback has been eliminated. The new setback will be the DEQ 30 Year Setback determined for your specific parcel and location.
2. Accessory Structures such as Coach Houses are now allowed.
3. Pools may be placed on the Lake Michigan Side of the Property.
4. Smaller lots (less than the 200 feet of frontage previously not addressed in Ordinance) will now have setbacks based on 10% of their width.
These are the big issues many of you would want to know about, there were other small changes also.
